How much does a website cost in Mexico? (2026)
What drives the price of a website, what site builders charge, what to expect from a freelancer or an agency, what each package includes and what you pay from year two.
Asking how much a website costs is like asking how much a storefront costs: it depends on the size, who builds it and what you pay every month afterward. Here’s what drives the price, the options on the market with published prices we checked on October 4, 2026, what each of our packages includes, and the costs worth asking about before you pay.
What makes a website cost more or less?
- How many sections or pages. A section is a block like “Home”, “Services” or “Contact”. A three-section introduction page is not the same as a site with a catalog, a blog and several service pages.
- Who writes the copy and gets the photos. This is the most underestimated part. If you have them ready, the project moves fast; if they need to be written, it takes longer.
- Whether you’ll sell online. A store adds products, inventory, payments, shipping and a platform that usually charges monthly and per sale.
- What it connects to. A WhatsApp button and a contact form are the basics. Bookings, quotes that land in your system or invoicing are integrations, and each one adds work.
- SEO and a blog. SEO means preparing your site and copy so Google understands it and shows it in search results. A blog gives you fresh content to show up in more searches.
- Hosting, domain, email and security certificate. Hosting is the server your site lives on; the domain is your address (yourbusiness.com.mx); the certificate (SSL) is the padlock that protects your visitors’ data. All of them renew every year.
- Maintenance and changes. Updates, backups and the changes you’ll ask for as your business evolves.
- Languages. Each language is a full version of your site, with its own copy.
What are your options, and what does each cost?
Build it yourself with a site builder
Site builders give you templates, hosting and an editor so you can put a site together without coding. You pay a monthly fee, and the fine print matters. For example, Hostinger advertises its website builder in Mexico from MXN 36.99 a month, but that price requires paying 48 months up front (MXN 1,775.52) and the plan renews at MXN 149.99 a month; prices are shown before IVA, Mexico’s VAT. Others, such as Wix, state that price and currency vary by location, so check their plans from Mexico.
If you want to sell, Shopify in Mexico charges US$19 a month for its Basic plan, or US$14 a month billed yearly, plus a fee on every card sale. We compare platforms and fees in how much an online store costs.
It’s the cheapest option in money and the most expensive in time: you choose the template, write the copy, place the photos and make sure it looks right on a phone.
Hire a freelancer
An independent designer or developer can do good work at a good price. Rates vary so much that there’s no reliable figure to give you, so compare written quotes for the same scope. Ask which platform they’ll use, whose name the domain and hosting will be in, and what happens if you can’t reach them later.
Hire an agency
An agency brings a team with several specialties and usually a longer process. Ask who you’ll be talking to during the project, how many rounds of changes the quote includes and what’s billed separately.
Buy a fixed-price package
A package tells you up front what’s included, what it costs and when it’s delivered. That’s what we do at Nightly for websites that don’t need custom features.
| Option | What you pay | Who does the work | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site builder (e.g., Hostinger) | From MXN 36.99 a month paying 48 months up front; renews at MXN 149.99 a month, before IVA | You | The renewal price and the hours you’ll put in |
| Shopify store | Basic plan at US$19 a month, or US$14 billed yearly, plus fees per sale | You or whoever you hire | Transaction fees and paid apps |
| Freelancer | Whatever they quote for the scope | One person | That accounts are in your name and there’s a written warranty |
| Agency | Whatever they quote for the scope | A team | Who you talk to and how many changes are included |
| Nightly package | $8,000, $10,999 or $17,999 MXN, one-time payment | Nightly, working directly with the founders | What renewing services costs from year two |

Delivery times count from when we have all your content: logo, copy and images. If it isn’t ready yet, we help you prepare it. You review your site before it goes live, an invoice (factura) is available on request, and we fix, free of charge, any defect you report within 60 calendar days of launch.
Your Google Business Profile is your business listing on Google Search and Maps. Creating one is free; what the package includes is the work of setting it up properly alongside your website.
What do you pay from the second year on?
In our packages, hosting, domain, security certificate, email, backups and maintenance are included for the first year after launch. Before that year ends, we tell you what renewing them costs, and you decide. If your store runs on Shopify, its plan and payment fees are yours from day one.
The domain is yours: we give you control of it or transfer it to your account whenever you ask. If you need changes after launch, adjustments start from $400 MXN per hour; extra sections or switching packages are priced separately.
Compare that with a site builder: you pay the plan from day one, and the renewal price is often higher than the promotional one. Run the numbers over two or three years, not just the first month.
Which hidden costs should you ask about before hiring?
Whoever you hire, get these answers in writing:
- What does renewing hosting, domain and email cost from the second year?
- Whose name is the domain in, and how do I get it back if I switch providers?
- How many changes are included, and what does each change cost after launch?
- Which paid licenses or plugins does it use, such as premium themes or extensions that renew every year?
- Who writes the copy and gets the photos? If it’s not in the quote, it’s probably on you.
- How many email accounts on your domain are included?
- What happens to my current site? Moving content from an old site or redirecting its pages may be billed separately.
- Who updates and backs up the site, and what happens if something breaks?
- Does the price include IVA, and can you issue a factura?
When does a custom website make sense?
A package covers most cases. Custom work makes sense when you need features a template doesn’t have:
- Several full languages. Like the Ruta Tierra Adentro site, in Spanish, English, Japanese, Chinese, German and French, with each version prepared for searches in its language.
- Ordering with its own rules. Like Matilda, where customers order by branch, earn rewards and send digital gift cards.
- A connection to your systems. When quotes or orders from your site need to land straight in your inventory or customer follow-up.
Pricing depends on scope; as a reference, a larger project starts from about $15,000 MXN, and you get the exact price in writing after the free consultation.
How do you pick the right option?
- If you have time and just need to be online, a site builder may be enough. Check the renewal price.
- If you want it done for you at a set price, pick a package. You know from the start what you’ll pay and when it’ll be ready.
- If your site needs to do something nobody else’s does, ask for a custom quote with scope, price per stage and dates in writing.
You can see the packages and buy them online on our pricing page, learn how we approach websites and online stores and hosting and maintenance, or book a free consultation if you’re not sure which one fits.
Frequently asked questions
At Nightly, the “Your online presence” package costs $8,000 MXN as a one-time payment: up to 3 sections, design aligned with your brand, a contact form and WhatsApp button, plus hosting, domain, email and security certificate included for the first year. It’s ready in about a week once we have your content.
Not for the build: it’s a one-time payment. First-year services are already included; before that year ends we tell you what renewing them costs, and you decide. If your store runs on Shopify, its plan and payment fees are yours.
About a week for “Your online presence”, a week and a half for “Your site, active and visible” and two weeks for “Your online store”. Times count from when we have all your content; if anything is missing, we help you prepare it.
The “Your site, active and visible” package includes technical and content SEO, a blog, your Google Business Profile and visitor tracking. We don’t promise a specific ranking, since it depends on factors outside our control, but we leave your site ready to compete.
Yes. An invoice is available if you request it when you buy your package.
We fix, free of charge, any defect in what we deliver that you report within 60 calendar days of launch. You also review your site before it goes live, and we adjust it within your package’s rounds of revisions.
