## Result

Subtotal = net materials + labor + overhead + other costs. Use the same valuation basis and the allocation agreed with your accounting owner.

Complete pending amounts with nonnegative numbers of up to two decimals. Enter 0 when you verified that no cost occurred; good units must be a positive integer.

2. 02

    ### Complete the records

Add materials net of returns, labor, overhead and other costs. Use finished good units, without counting scrap as good output.

3. 03

    ### Confirm and compare

Until all costs are confirmed, the subtotal is provisional and unit cost stays pending. Download the calculation; it is not profit or a quotation.

## Frequently asked questions

### What are the elements of production cost?

This calculation separates materials consumed, labor, allocated overhead and other costs attributable to the same order. Agree allocation and valuation with your accounting owner.

### How do I calculate cost per good unit?

Divide complete recorded cost by finished good units. The tool requires a positive whole-unit count and confirmation of complete costs; the result is rounded to cents.

### What if an invoice or cost is missing?

Do not mark the cost complete. Recorded subtotal is provisional; its difference from the estimate is not yet the final variance.

### Does the tool store data or calculate profit?

It does not save or send your figures. It calculates an order’s costs, not profit, selling price or accounting compliance. Contact links do not contain your figures.

## Is each order’s cost spread across several spreadsheets?
